Open Letter to Coursera re: Discussion Forum Design

Dear Coursera,

I am an instructional designer at Yavapai College in Prescott, Arizona. finger with bloody band aid scrolling computer mouseI am disappointed that, despite the positive aspects of your discussion forum design (rating posts and simple design among them), having the new post interface at the bottom of the posting list makes it onerous and, in the case of a busy forum, downright difficult and very time-consuming to get to the bottom in order to post. You can’t get to it quickly because of the dynamic loading of more posts when you get to the bottom, and I gave up scrolling in one forum that had hundreds of posts.

Can this be fixed? How about a button at the top to “post new”. If I am off base, please explain how the design as it is makes sense.

Sincerely

Forever scrolling
